 Loseling Altruistic Medical Association Annual performance report - 2014-2015 



It is a great pleasure to inform you that we at Loseling Altruistic Medical Association was able to provide following charitable healthcare service to those sick people who came to us in pain and despair seeking solution for concerned ailments. And also provided free medication to hundreds of poor villagers who live in dense forest where there is no electricity, no hospital and of course no money to afford treatment. We deeply thank those generous people who supported us with contribution of money, ideas, and medical skills or through every other means.


1. During the year, Loseling Altruistic Medical Association (LAMA) provided free consultation and medicines to over 11322 monks and 188 nuns who belong to different monasteries and nunneries situated in Mundgod or other parts of India. And provided 50% concession on medicines to 9753 local Indian patients and 2548 Tibetan laypeople visited here for treatment.

2. During the year, LAMA provided free consultation and medicines to over 1301 monks and free consultation and 50% concession on medicine to 74 Tibetan lay patient and 15 Indian lay patients by way of Tibetan traditional medicine.

3. LAMA provided free dental treatment to 835 monks and nuns and 1007 Indian and Tibetan lays were treated with 50% concession.

4. LAMA provided free treatment and check up for blood test and sputum test to 2621 monks and 25 nuns and 50% concession on treatment to 398 Tibetan laypeople and 1978 to local Indian people.

5. During the year, LAMA invited specialist doctors from Hubli, orthopedist gave treatment to 94 patients and 254patients were benefited from diabetes specialist and from the specialist of kidney and liver, 141 patients were benefited.

6. Loseling hospital runs by Loseling Altruistic Medical Association had organized free three days i.e. (8th, 10th and 11th February, 2015) Unique Diagnostic Profile of Specialized Test Called Aarogyam 1.6 Profile + PSA which included 77 tests. In these free camp more than 600 blood-samples has been taken from the monks including Dignitaries of Monastery, Tulkus, Geshes, Senior monks from Buxa, Post Graduated Monks and Staffs of monastery. After getting the report, we had invited three specialist Doctors from Hubli and they advised them various medicines, retest and consultation during camp.

7. LAMA invited a group consist of 43 medical personals consist of physiotherapist, Chinese therapist, general physician, Lab. Technician, nurses, pharmacist, and other volunteers from Bliss and Wisdom Foundation, Taiwan conducted free medical camp for three days starting from 29th to 31st may,2015. During their three days free medical camp, around 478 patients including monks, nuns, Tibetans and Indians were benefited through various medical services provided by bliss and wisdom foundation of Taiwan. Not only this, they had also given a health talk to different monasteries.

8. This year in July, LAMA in collaboration with Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorable Hospital, Taiwan (10th session) provided health awareness guidance to monasteries, in school and in settlement camp, in old aged home by examining their eyes, free distribution of spectacles, sing for them, wash their feet, cut their nails and do things that bring smile on their face and dental check up to primary students.

9. LAMA invited 19 Medical Personals from Korea Medical Buddhist Association conducted free medical camp for three days from 5th to 7th October, 2015 and benefited hundreds of patients through western medicines, pediatric, internal medicines and Korea medicines. And during their camp, 1110 patients were benefited through various medical treatments.

10. LAMA invited a 28 Member medical team consist of Pathology, Surgical and Gynecological, Ophthalmology, Dentistry, Pediatric, Chinese Therapist, Chest Physician, General Physicians, Nurse and Medical Assistant from Bliss and Wisdom Foundation, Taiwan has actively conducted Free Medical Camp from 27th November to 3rd December, 2015 at Loseling Hospital, Janchup Choeling Nunnery and Old and Infirm People’s Home and Health Awareness Program by visiting Monasteries and Schools. In shorts, they examined, diagnosed and treated 1358 suffering Patients during their Eight days free medical service.

11. This year again LAMA provided Six times free hepatitis B DNA Quantitative test, 276 patients had done free hepatitis B DNA Quantitative test in Our Hospital by inviting Lab. Technician from Hubli and 117 patients were done the test in Hubli, in total, LAMA provide Free hepatitis B Quantitative test to 393 patients. And provide free medicine to 138 patients. From the specialist of kidney and liver, 182 patients had been consulted and provide medication under the guidance of specialist Doctor.

12. LAMA provided medical aid to 35 needy patients who were diagnosed with acute appendicitis, kidney stones, bone fractures, or other diseases, which cannot be treated here at Loseling Hospital.

In short, this year, Loseling Altruistic Medical Association provided charitable medical services to over 33506 patients and provided freely treatment and medicines to 3573 needy patients.

1. During the year, Loseling Altruistic Medical Association (LAMA) provided free consultation and medicines to over 11146 monks and 294 nuns who belong to different monasteries and nunneries situated in Mundgod or other parts of India. And provided 50% concession on medicines to 7442 local Indian patients and 1666 Tibetan laypeople visited here for treatment.

2. During the year, LAMA provided free consultation and medicines to over 1209 monks and 2 nuns, and free consultation and 50% concession on medicine to 51 Tibetan lay patient and 8 Indian lay patients by way of Tibetan traditional medicine.

3. LAMA provided free dental treatment to 1234 monks and nuns and 756 Indian and Tibetan lays were treated with 50% concession.

4. LAMA provided free treatment and check up for blood test and sputum test to 1378 monks and 106 nuns and 50% concession on treatment to 135 Tibetan laypeople and 785 to local Indian people.

5. During the year, LAMA invited specialist doctors from Hubli, orthopedist gave treatment to 49 patients and from the specialist of kidney and liver, 24 patients were benefited and from diabetes specialist 55 patients were get benefited.

6. LAMA invited around 20 Medical Team from Taiwan Kuan-Yen Compassion Chinese Medicine Promotion Association conducted free medical camp for four days from 8th to 10th and 12th November, 2013. During free medical camp 446 Patients including Monks, Nuns, Tibetans and Indian lay people were benefited through Acupuncture, Massage, Moxibustion, and Chinese Traditional medicine.

7. LAMA in collaboration with Jamtse medical association of Taiwan consisting, doctor and around 20 medical personals organized free medical camp from 1st to 3rd April, 2014 and 436 patients were benefited through various medical treatment and services.

8. LAMA invited a group consist of 09 medical personals including doctors, nurses, health workers, pharmacist and volunteers from Bliss and Wisdom Foundation, Taiwan conducted free medical camp for three days starting from 8th May to 10th May, 2014. During the camp 804 patients were benefited and Not only this, they produced thousands of questionnaire mainly basis on Diet Habits, Exercise and living Habits and GerdQ Self – assessment Questionnaire.

9. This year in July, LAMA in collaboration with Kaosiung Medical College, Taiwan (9thsession) provided health awareness guidance to monasteries, in school and in settlement camp, in old aged home and special conducted free eye and dental check up to primary students.

10. A four and half days free medical camp was conducted by inviting team of doctors and medical personals from bliss and wisdom foundation of Taiwan from 9th - 11th October, 2014 in our Hospital and one and half days at Gaden Shartse hospital. 860 patients received free medicines and treatments from ophthalmologist, Dermatologist, Dentist and General physician. And also gave guidance on cure and prevention of diseases to different monasteries.

11. This year LAMA provided three times free hepatitis B DNA Quantitative test, in first check up,108 patients had done free hepatitis B DNA quantitative test and in next round 21 patients had done the test and 26 patients were done in Hubli, overall LAMA provide free hepatitis B Quantitative test to 155 patients. And provide free medicine to 113 patients. From the specialist of kidney and liver, 117 patients have diagnosed with kidney and liver and under the guidance of specialist of liver, we had provided freely medicine to 113 patients. This year LAMA provided freely medicines to 131 patients. In conclusion, this year LAMA provided freely treatment and medicine to 233 patients.

12. LAMA provided medical aid to 46 needy patients who were diagnosed with acute appendicitis, kidney stones, bone fractures, or other diseases, which cannot be treated here at loseling clinic.
In short, this year, Loseling Altruistic Medical Association provided charitable medical services to over 26725 patients and provided freely treatment and medicines to 2546 needy patients.

 It is a great pleasure to inform you that we at Loseling Altruistic Medical Association was able to provide following charitable healthcare service to those sick people who came to us in pain and despair seeking solution for concerned ailments. And also provided free medication to hundreds of poor villagers who live in dense forest where there is no electricity, no clinic and of course no money to afford treatment. We deeply thank those generous people who supported us with contribution of money, ideas, and medical skills or through every other means.

1.         During the year, Loseling clinic provided freeconsultation and medicines to over 11958 monks and 474 nuns who belong to different monasteries and nunneries situated in Mundgod or other parts of India. And provided 50% concession on medicines to 7177 local Indian patients and 2653 Tibetan laypeople visited here for treatment.
                          
2.          During the year, Loseling clinic provided free consultation and medicines to over 619 monks and 9 nuns, and free consultation and 50% concession on medicine to 68 Tibetan lay patient and 6 Indian lay patients by way of Tibetan traditional medicine

3.           Loseling Clinic provided free dental treatment to 2463 monks and nuns and 1000 Indian and Tibetan lays were treated with 50% concession.

4.           Loseling clinic provided free treatment and check up for blood test and sputum test to 1962 and 195 nuns and 50% concession on treatment to 431 Tibetan laypeople and 1108 to local Indian people.

5.        During the year, Loseling clinic invited specialist doctors from Hubli, bone specialist gave treatment to 80 patients and from the specialist of kidney and liver, 301 patients were benefited

6.          A free medical camp was conducted during jangchup lamrim teaching at mundghod from 1st December to 13th December, 2012.
a)      905 patients were provided free Tibetan Traditional consultation and medicines.
b)     Under the arrangement of Loseling clinic, 1656 patients were provided free medicine and treatment by the medical team of Taiwan and group of Taiwan jamtse choetsok.

7.         LAMA in collaboration with Jamtse Choetsok association, doctor and his team, 20 Taiwanese organized free medical camp from 17th to 19th July, 2013 and 459 patients were benefited.

8.           This year in July, Loseling Clinic in collaboration with Kaosiung Medical College, Taiwan (8th session) provided health awareness guidance to monasteries, in school and in settlement camp and conducted free medical camp and 1120 patients were treated and provided health awareness guidance and also conducted medical campaign for the eye check up was held in Loseling clinic, janchup choeling monastery and old aged home and they provided appropriate spectacles.

9.       Loseling Clinic also conducted free medical camp by inviting team of medical personals, specialist in ancient Chinese traditional medicine from Kuoyun Buddhist Association, Taiwan in 1st to 3rd October, 2013 and 439 patients were benefited. And given a guidance and workshop of daily diet.

10.      A 5 days free medical camp was conducted by inviting team of doctors and medical personals from medical care international, USA from 8th -13th October, 2013 and 1178 patients received free medicines and treatments.

11.       This year Loseling clinic provided two times free hepatitis B DNA Quantitative test, in first check up,174 patients had done free hepatitis B DNA quantitative test and in next round 13 patients had done the test and 14 patients were done in hubli, overall loseling clinic provide free hepatitis B Quantitative test to 201 patients. And provide free medicine to 130 patients.

12.       Loseling Altruistic medical Association provided medical aid for 56 needy monks who were diagnosed with acute appendicitis, kidney stones, bone fractures, or other diseases, which cannot be treated here at loseling clinic.


In short, this year, Loseling Clinic provided charitable medical services to over 30742 patients.

Annual Performance Report for

 the financial year 2011-12


Loseling Altruistic Medical Association was able to provide following charitable healthcare service to 
thousands of sick people in the following ways:

1.                Loseling Clinic provided free consultation and medicines to over 7913 monks and 217 nuns who belong to different monasteries and convents situated in Mundgod or other parts of India. Loseling Clinic provided free consultation and 50% discount on medications to 4088 local Indian patients and 1427 Tibetan lay people who visited here for treatment.

2.         Loseling Clinic provided free consultation and medicine to over 1274 monks and 45 nuns and free consultation and 50% discount on medicines to 72 Tibetan lay people and 13 local Indian patients through Tibetan traditional medicine.


3.                  Total of 334 patients were treated and diagnosed for free or 50% discount with endoscopy, Ultrasound by our weekly visiting specialist such as gastroenterologist, radiologist, ENT and orthopedist.

4.                  During the year 2335 dental patients enjoyed free consultation and free or 50% discount on treatments such as extraction, filling, RCT, endo etc and medications.

5.                  More than 1800 monks from Loseling monks were tested for Hepatitis B and 858 HB negative monks were vaccinated and 125 patients were provided free Hepatitis B DNA quantitative test on 4th November, 2011. 87 more Hepatitis B DNA Quantitative test to be done and follow up test for all the above patients to be done in the subsequent year.

6.                  LAMA in collaboration with Jamtse Choetsok, Taiwan organized free medical camp from 26th to 28th March, 2011 and 305 patients were benefited.

7.                  A weeklong free medical camp was conducted by inviting team of doctors and medical personals from Medical Care International, USA from 4th to 9th October, 2011 and 1043 patients were benefited.

8.              A free medical camp was conducted during Kalachakra initiation at Bodh Gaya from 29th December, 2011 to 8th January, 2012
a)      1434 patients were provided free allopathic consultation and free medicines.
b)      98 patients were provided free Tibetan Traditional consultation and medicines.
c)  184 patients availed the benefit of acupuncture and Chinese traditional medicines by inviting Doctors, acupuncturist and other volunteers from Taiwan and Japan.

9.                  Loseling Altruistic Medical Association provided medical aid for 65 needy monks who were referred for surgeries with acute appendicitis, kidney stones, bone fractures or other diseases, which cannot be treated here at Loseling Clinic.

It is a great pleasure to inform you that the Loseling Altruistic Medical Association was able to provide following charitable healthcare service to thousands of sick people in the following ways:

 Loseling Clinic provided free consultation and medicines to over 8324 monks and 202 nuns who belong to different monasteries and convents situated in Mundgod or other parts of India. Loseling Clinic provided free consultation and 50% discount on medications to 5075 local Indian patients and 1627 Tibetan lay people who visited here for treatment.

Loseling Clinic provided free consultation and medicine to over 1619 monks and 53 nuns and free consultation and 50% discount on medicines to 105 Tibetan lay people and 14 local Indian patients through Tibetan traditional medicine.

Total of 607 patients were treated and diagnosed by our weekly visiting specialist such as gastroenterologist, radiologist, ENT and orthopedist.

During the year 2335 dental patients enjoyed free consultation and free or 50% discount on treatments and medications.

A weeklong free medical camp was conducted by inviting team of doctors and medical personals from Medical Care International, USA from 4th to 9th October, 2011 and 1043 patients were benefited.

To enhance the use of existing available dental facilities in the hospitals of respective Monasteries, two assistant dentists from the each hospital were given extensive dental training from 24th July, 2011 to 7th August, 2011 by inviting experienced dentist from International Action and Corporation Team, Taiwan.

Loseling Altruistic Medical Association provided medical aid for 69 needy monks who were diagnosed with acute appendicitis, kidney stones, bone fractures or other diseases, which cannot be treated here at Loseling Clinic.
